We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee and coordinate large-scale construction projects in Mare Island and the Northern California region. The role involves managing personnel, resources, and project operations while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance. This position requires a combination of office and field work, including direct collaboration with clients, designers, and consultants.
Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $160,000, based on experience

- Manage and coordinate company personnel and resources to execute projects effectively.
- Oversee and support the site safety manager, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist with estimating efforts and perform constructability reviews.
- Prepare and implement the Project Execution Plan.
- Manage the project permit process and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders and oversee the procurement process.
- Monitor cost control and change management systems to ensure budget adherence.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, designers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain the master project schedule and oversee updates.
- Compile and analyze financial performance reports for projects.
- Prepare and submit monthly client project status reports as required.
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with the Superintendent.
- Prepare and submit GCC pay applications to the owner promptly.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award discussions.
- Review inspection and test data to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain a site logistics plan in coordination with the Superintendent.
- Establish QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
- Communicate and enforce the Safety and Health Management Program.
- Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring.
- Oversee project close-out and manage owner interactions during the post-construction warranty period.
- Support the organization’s goals by participating in cross-training and mentoring.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy civil construction experience.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, industry standards, codes, and processes.
- Thorough understanding of Lump Sum and unit price contracts.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other project management tools.
- Strong math and accounting skills for budgeting and cost management.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates excellent time management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
