Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year + Annual Bonus
We are a leading self-perform construction firm specializing in large-scale solar projects for utility companies and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). With a management team boasting extensive industry expertise, we have successfully delivered over 650 projects across multiple states and Canada.
We are seeking a Project Accountant with construction industry experience to oversee and manage the financial aspects of our construction projects. This role is integral to maintaining financial accuracy, optimizing budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project managers to develop and maintain detailed, cost-effective budgets.
- Manage financial transactions throughout the project lifecycle, including invoicing, cash flow estimation, and vendor payments.
- Coordinate and process conditional and unconditional lien waivers from vendors.
- Analyze financial data, track project costs, and adjust budgets as necessary.
- Maintain accurate financial records for audits, tax purposes, and internal reporting.
- Prepare cost analyses by interpreting financial data related to construction projects.
- Identify and report financial risks and budget discrepancies to management.
- Research market trends and fluctuations in construction costs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Stay up to date with industry developments in both construction and accounting.
Requirements:
- Must have construction industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Certification in construction accounting (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and financial procedures.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage and Procore.
- Understanding of the construction industry and project accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
