Lead Handyman

Seeking a Lead Handyman for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Silver Spring, MD.

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k! 

Pay is between $30 - $40 per hour (based on experience)

The Lead Handyman will oversee and perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks in residential settings. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and expertise in multiple trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general home maintenance. This role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and delivering excellent customer service.
 

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of home repairs, maintenance, and remodeling tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, painting, flooring, and appliance installation.
• Supervise and train junior handymen or subcontractors, ensuring quality control and adherence to project timelines.
• Inspect properties to diagnose issues and recommend cost-effective solutions to homeowners.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings when necessary.
• Manage work schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate with clients to ensure timely job completion.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for various tasks.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners, addressing their concerns and providing project updates.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Provide cost estimates and invoices for repair and renovation projects.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in construction trades preferred.
• Own a set of basic hand and power tools.
• 5+ years of experience as a handyman.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general home repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Experience leading a team and managing job sites.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
