Position Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation in Madison, WI. This role will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, complete preventative maintenance, and respond to emergency repairs to help minimize production downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults involving three-phase power systems, motor controls, and control circuits.

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.

  • Inspect, replace, and maintain gaskets and other mechanical components.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and related production equipment.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.

  • Safely access elevated equipment using ladders and other approved equipment.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment status reports, and parts inventory.

  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities.

  • Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and repair needs.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Work overtime and flexible hours as needed to support continuous production operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an electrical maintenance apprenticeship, technical training program, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience performing electrical maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial laundry environment.

  • Experience working with three-phase electrical systems is required.

  • Strong knowledge of three-phase power, motor controls, and industrial electrical components.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift. Certification is helpful but not required; training will be provided.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to work overtime and adjust hours based on production and maintenance needs.

Preferred Skills

  • Gasket installation and replacement.

  • Conveyor system and industrial pump maintenance.

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and automated control system experience.

  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Mechanical alignment and equipment maintenance.

  • Basic welding or fabrication skills.

  • Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
