Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Project Manager III for a direct hire opportunity supporting specialty concrete infrastructure and prestressed tank construction projects across North Florida. This is a senior-level leadership role responsible for overseeing complex, multi-phase construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
The Project Manager III will act as a key decision-maker, coordinating between field operations, engineering, procurement, safety, accounting, and client stakeholders. This role requires advanced project management expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-value infrastructure projects in fast-paced field environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop full understanding of contract documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda
- Ensure projects meet all safety, quality, scope, and schedule requirements at a senior leadership level
- Prepare comprehensive project startup packages including budgets, job cost setup, and execution planning
- Develop and maintain advanced CPM schedules, including sequencing, updates, and recovery planning
- Coordinate with drafting teams on shop drawings, formwork drawings, and complex construction detailing
- Review shop drawings for full compliance with contract and engineering requirements
- Lead submittal coordination with subcontractors and purchasing to ensure timely procurement flow
- Prepare, transmit, and track all submittal packages across project stakeholders
- Review bills of materials, purchase orders, and work orders for procurement approval and cost control
- Conduct regular jobsite visits during mobilization and active construction phases
- Lead internal preconstruction planning and project kickoff meetings
- Analyze weekly job cost reporting (EPIR/CCTS) for accuracy, trends, and performance tracking
- Present financial forecasts, cost performance, and schedule updates during monthly WIP meetings
- Oversee field coordination including safety inspections, QA/QC inspections, pre-pour meetings, testing requirements, and job cost tracking
- Manage unit quantities, productivity tracking, T&M reporting, and budget/schedule adjustments
- Maintain direct communication with Superintendents regarding field performance and execution
- Manage complex coordination issues, change orders, delays, and contractual matters with owners, GCs, and subcontractors
- Support timely project closeout including O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, and final documentation packages
- Lead post-project reviews and performance evaluations
- Participate in monthly leadership meetings and contribute to strategic project planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 7+ years of related construction management experience
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract administration
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and insurability
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Concrete or heavy civil infrastructure experience strongly preferred
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- PMP Certification a plus
- Proficiency with MS Project or scheduling software
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Experience with Autodesk DWF Composer
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification a plus
