Grade Survey Technician – Lebanon, TN
We’re seeking a skilled Grade Survey Technician with hands-on experience in surveying, grade control, and construction layout. This position plays a critical role in ensuring precision and efficiency across all phases of construction projects. The ideal candidate will be confident using 3D modeling software, surveying instruments, and modern layout technology to deliver accurate, high-quality results in the field.
💰 Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per year (based on experience)

Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed 3D construction and surface models using Agtek software.
Produce cut/fill analyses, earthwork quantities, and other terrain calculations.
Update models and layouts to reflect field conditions and project revisions.
Perform grade checking, elevation verification, and layout accuracy assessments.
Establish and maintain reference points, benchmarks, and control lines throughout the site.
Conduct final grade checks, proof roll scheduling, and quality documentation.
Collaborate with contractors, inspectors, and design teams for field verification and testing.
Operate and maintain GPS rover systems, total stations, and levels for curb, gutter, and utility layout.
Complete as-built and topographic surveys, ensuring precise data collection and reporting.
Maintain survey logs, calibration records, and accurate project documentation.
Provide on-site technical support and assist with issue resolution as projects progress.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field, OR
Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant field experience
Experience & Technical Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction surveying and grade control
Proficient in Agtek 3D modeling software (required)
Experience using GPS/GNSS rover systems and total stations
Familiarity with Civil 3D, Topcon, or Trimble software (a plus)
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and methods
Experience on heavy civil construction projects
Surveyor license or technician certification preferred
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Able to walk uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs
Strong communication, attention to detail, and professionalism
