Direct-hire opportunity for a Power Electronics Engineer to support an Advanced Engineering team. This role involves designing advanced HVDC and LVDC power systems and developing innovative thermal and magnetic solutions to enable reliable, high-performance GPU environments.

Salary: $200,000-$300,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end power electronics development for HVDC/LVDC power architecture systems serving multi-gigawatt GPU computing loads, from circuit design through manufacturing.
  • Design high-power, high-voltage control and protection circuits including SiC/GaN gate drivers, fault detection systems, and isolated sensing for DC power distribution platforms.
  • Develop embedded control systems using microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs for real-time power management, monitoring, and protection of high-frequency power electronics.
  • Design auxiliary power supplies for 800V-1500V DC inputs, isolated communications interfaces, and EMI/EMC compliant circuit architectures.
  • Perform circuit simulation, PCB layout (Altium Designer, SPICE, PLECS), thermal analysis, and design verification for high-reliability power electronics assemblies.
  • Lead reliability testing, manufacturing transfer, and field deployment support for power electronics serving mission-critical AI infrastructure.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in power electronics circuit design with deep expertise in high-voltage, high-current applications.
  • Proven track record designing and bringing up complex digital and analog circuits for power management, control, and protection systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred), circuit simulation (SPICE, PLECS), and hands-on troubleshooting of high-voltage circuits.
  • Strong understanding of wide-bandgap devices (SiC, GaN), gate driver design, isolated power supplies, and high-frequency magnetics.
  • Experience with embedded systems programming (C/C++), FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog), and real-time control algorithms for power electronics.
  • Deep knowledge of power conversion topologies, digital control loop design, soft-switching techniques, thermal management for power semiconductors, and high-voltage insulation coordination.
