Position Overview
This is a Direct Hire Opportunity. As a Machinist II (CNC Turn), you will operate and set up CNC turning (lathe) machines to produce high-precision aerospace components. You will be responsible for full machine setups, program adjustments, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring all parts meet strict blueprint and quality standards. This role requires strong independent machining ability and at least 5+ years of CNC turning experience in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning (lathe) machines independently
- Perform full machine setups including tooling, offsets, and fixture alignment
- Make program edits and troubleshooting adjustments as needed
- Operate multiple CNC machines in a cellular manufacturing environment
- Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, sketches, and work orders
- Apply advanced knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling selection
- Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with tight aerospace tolerances and quality standards
- Maintain accurate production documentation (counts, scrap, time tracking, etc.)
- Perform routine maintenance and support coolant/tooling upkeep
- Support and mentor junior machinists as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years CNC machining experience (CNC turning/lathe required)
- Strong ability to set up machines independently from prints
- Experience with blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
- Ability to make program edits and troubleshoot machining issues
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience in high-precision or aerospace manufacturing preferred
- Must comply with ITAR/EAR regulations

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs regularly
