Seeking a Field Coordinator to support the on-site execution of mechanical chiller upgrades in Salisbury, NC. This project involves replacing and upgrading commercial chiller systems, HVAC components, electrical tie-ins, and controls integration within a secure, highly regulated environment.

The Field Coordinator will serve as the primary on-site representative for the general contractor, ensuring smooth daily operations, quality control, and clear communication between all trades involved in the project.

Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Benefits: Medical Stipend, PTO

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field activities related to chiller replacement, HVAC upgrades, electrical tie-ins, and controls integration.
  • Coordinate work sequencing among mechanical, electrical, controls, and subcontractor teams.
  • Monitor progress against the project schedule and provide updates to the Project Manager.
  • Serve as the on-site liaison between trades, facility staff, and the general contractor.
  • Verify installations align with project plans, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections and document deficiencies or corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work complies with facility regulations, building codes, and project standards.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation.
  • Uphold strict safety standards within a secure correctional environment.
  • Ensure personnel follow facility access procedures and security protocols.
  • Support site safety initiatives and report incidents or concerns.
Required Experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with a general contractor or subcontractor on construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating field activities on commercial mechanical or HVAC projects.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, chiller operations, or HVAC upgrades.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a secure, highly regulated facility environment.
  • No specific certifications or licenses required.
  • Regular travel to the Salisbury, NC job site is required.
