Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer – Industrial Electrical Construction

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support industrial electrical construction and field service projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Electrical Foreman, Estimator, Field Engineer, or Industrial Electrical professional looking to grow into increased project-management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Support projects from award through completion and closeout.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, and project requirements.
• Assist with project schedules, procurement, budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, material tracking, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervision, engineers, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and OEMs.
• Track project progress, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Help identify project changes, delays, and out-of-scope work.
• Support testing, commissioning, QA/QC, punch lists, and project closeout.
• Maintain accurate project records, drawings, reports, and turnover documentation.
• Travel to industrial facilities and active construction sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of industrial electrical construction or electrical field service experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and construction methods.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and one-line diagrams.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and change management.
• Experience with P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with customers, field crews, vendors, subcontractors, and engineers.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

• Switchgear and switchboards
• Motor control centers and motor controls
• Temporary construction power
• Testing, commissioning, and startup
• OSHA, NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout
• Industrial, utility, manufacturing, municipal, or similar environments
