DIRECT HIRE: An awesome opportunity for an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join a dynamic team.  This position requires for 100% travel across the Southeast U.S.  

Salary: $50hr - $54hr + OT

Role & Responsibilities: 
  • Travel to assigned solar and battery storage project sites throughout the area using a company-provided service truck to perform on-site equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of diesel-powered equipment, hydraulic systems, trucks, heavy equipment, and HEO/construction equipment used at renewable-energy job sites
  • Operate and inspect vehicles, machinery, and heavy equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and operational faults and determine necessary repairs
  • Use computerized engine diagnostic equipment, calibration devices, testing equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting methods to diagnose diesel engine and equipment malfunctions
  • Safely dismantle, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment using small truck cranes, hoists, hand tools, and power tools while following proper lifting and safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot, rewire, and repair electrical systems and equipment components while reading operating manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Research, order, organize, and maintain parts inventory to support field repairs and ensure equipment remains operational with minimal downtime
  • Test repaired and assembled equipment to verify proper performance, safety, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Assist operators with daily equipment inspections, maintain FMCSA/DOT compliance, and ensure equipment arriving at and leaving each project is job-ready and turnkey for its next assignment
  • Maintain a safe and organized field environment, communicate effectively with project teams, report accidents and near misses, and participate in continuous-improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to multiple projects in multiple states.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician with a strong working knowledge of mechanics
  • Knowledge of Solar Project based equipment
  • Must have working knowledge of commercial construction equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and clean MVR
  • Must possess basic tools such as impacts, pneumatic or battery-operated drivers, wrenches and sockets up to 2”
  • Welding ability and knowledge with Torch, Stick, Mig, Tig and ARC
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Position will require an up-to-date possession or ability to obtain DOT(Non-CDL) Medical Card
  • Position may require the possession of or obtaining Class A CDL (within 12 months of hire)
  • Proficient computer analytical skills using MSOffice and various other programs
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected)
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to move, lift or carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility and full range of motion with repetitive movement
  • Ability to travel, drive or perform up to 11 hours per day when required
Work Environment:
  • Construction Project, maybe remote at times based on location
  • Requires working or exposure to adverse climate conditions such as hot, cold, dusty, rainy, snow
  • Working around moving construction equipment
  • Working in bright or low lighting conditions
