Seeking Journeyman Pipefitters with industrial construction experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Indianapolis, IN.

Pay is between $28 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

The Pipefitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems for new and existing construction projects. This role requires expertise in hydronic systems, including steam, natural gas, chilled water, hot water, and compressed air systems. Additionally, the Pipefitter will assist the Foreman in overseeing project execution and act as a mentor and trainer to apprentices

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping for commercial hydronic systems, including steam, natural gas, chilled/hot water, and compressed air systems.
  • Work closely with Foreman and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine pipe layouts, required materials, and installation methods.
  • Perform pipe threading, cutting, welding, and soldering as needed.
  • Inspect and test piping systems using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, and other equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Train and mentor apprentices, providing hands-on instruction and guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and clients to address project needs and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in pipefitting in industrial/commercial construction.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel between job sites.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work on scaffolding, and operate lifts.
  • Willingness to drive long distances (up to 14 hours per day) between job sites when necessary.
  • Ability to perform other manual labor tasks as required.
