We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical hardware within the aerospace industry. In this role, you will translate engineering designs into efficient production methods, support manufacturing builds, improve quality and cost, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to deliver high-quality hardware.

Duration: 8+ month (Contract)
Pay: $54 – $65/ hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, and build documentation.
  • Translate engineering drawings and specifications into production-ready processes.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and FMEA activities.
  • Improve manufacturing methods to enhance quality, reduce cost, and increase efficiency.
  • Review engineering drawings and recommend design improvements.
  • Support non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Develop process controls and monitor manufacturing performance.
  • Manage hardware configuration, build schedules, quality, and production flow.
  • Support supplier manufacturing and integrate new production equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes for electromechanical products.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with CAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering documentation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electric motors, rotating equipment, or aerospace/defense manufacturing.
  • Experience with avionics, wire harnesses, propulsion, thermal systems, or spacecraft hardware.
  • Experience launching new production lines or manufacturing cells.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DFM/DFA, FMEA, and statistical process control.
  • Ability to obtain a DBIDS or NASA badge.
