Roofing Mechanic

Seeking a Roofing Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Hyattsville, MD.

Pay is between $26 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

The Roofing Mechanic will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in roofing construction, excellent technical skills, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Roofing Installation and Repair:
  • Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial and residential roofing systems
  • Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, including Foremen, Crew Members, Superintendents, General Superintendent and Contractors, to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor less-experienced crew members.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
  • Complete required safety training such as fall protections or OSHA.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all roofing projects.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify that rooking systems meet established standards and specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintain and care for roofing tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Roofer or Roofing Mechanic, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Able to handle at least 50lbs
• Sheet Metal, slate and/or tile experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR
• OSHA10 or OSHA30
