Traffic Control Foreman – Direct Hire | Superior Skilled Trades

💰 Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000/year
🕒 Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Weekly Hours: 40–50 hours with occasional Saturdays during peak season

Position Overview
This is a Direct Hire Opportunity. As a Traffic Control Foreman, you will lead and manage traffic control operations across multiple projects, ensuring safety for both crews and the public. You will develop and implement traffic control plans, supervise field crews, maintain equipment, and serve as the primary point of contact for inspectors, police, and the public. This role combines hands-on fieldwork with leadership and team development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and train traffic control crews to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Develop, review, and implement Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) plans per MUTCD and local agency requirements.
Conduct pre-job site assessments and create traffic control plans (TCPs) appropriate to each project.
Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce crew adherence to all safety protocols.
Ensure proper placement, maintenance, and removal of signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, and other traffic control devices.
Maintain inventory and ensure all traffic control equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
Coordinate traffic control operations with construction schedules and multiple divisions.
Maintain accurate logs, documentation of traffic control setups, crew hours, and incident reports.
Monitor traffic flow and adjust setups to maintain safety and minimize public disruption.
Serve as the primary point of contact for traffic control inquiries from inspectors, police, and the public.
Qualifications
Clean, valid driver’s license.
Flagger Certification required; ATSSA Traffic Control Technician or Supervisor certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and TDOT standards.
Minimum 3–5 years of traffic control experience, including knowledge of proper equipment, materials, and supplies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable using technology (iPad, iPhone, computer).
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
