Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility)
Pay Range: $35.00 – $40.00
Hours: 40 + hours per week

Position Overview
Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a precision manufacturing company in Farmington, CT to identify an experienced Toolmaker / Machinist for a direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished toolmaker or machinist with strong inspection capabilities and the mathematical aptitude required for complex setups and high-tolerance work.
Key Responsibilities
Primary daily responsibilities include operating and maintaining a vertical mill (ProtoTRAK), Haas TM2 CNC Milling Center, EZ-Path CNC Lathe, OD grinder, and surface grinder.
Conduct detailed inspections to ensure tight tolerances and quality standards
Operate and set up:
Manual milling machines
CNC milling machines
OD Grinders
Surface Grinders
Utilize sine plates and precision measurement tools
Apply strong shop math and trigonometry skills independently
Support toolmaking and machining activities as required
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Toolmaker and/or Machinist
Experience with precision inspection and high-tolerance work
Familiarity with sine plates and advanced measurement techniques
Ability to independently perform complex setups and calculations
Preferred Qualifications
Accomplished toolmaker willing to be trained in Jig Grinding if not already experienced
Experience in a job shop or high-precision manufacturing environment
Compensation
Pay Range: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience
