Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the care, maintenance, and proper use of all assigned software, equipment, and tools, as well as timely reporting of defective equipment
Prepare detailed drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software for architectural, mechanical, or electrical projects
Convert rough sketches and specifications into accurate technical drawings
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design feasibility and compliance with project requirements
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from supervisors and project stakeholders
Maintain strict adherence to job safety protocols, ensuring precision and quality in all drafting work
Ensure high-quality documentation that meets client and company standards
Adhere to all operating policies and procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor
Keep workspaces clean and organized to ensure efficiency in design workflow
Perform other job-related tasks as (assigned by) required for support of the Team
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Ability to follow precise written and verbal instructions
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in technical drawings
Proficiency in CAD software such as (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Chief Architect)
Understanding of drafting standards, industry codes, and best practices
Ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications
Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and spatial reasoning
Familiarity with material properties and fabrication techniques
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and construction teams
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt techniques to unique project challenges
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation using CAD software
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, mouse, and drafting tools
Occasional standing, walking, and reaching to review physical blueprints or models
Ability to lift and carry drafting equipment, blueprints, or small materials (typically up to 25 pounds)
Strong visual acuity for reading detailed drawings, distinguishing colors, and making precise adjustments
Occasional bending, kneeling, or stretching when working with physical models or reviewing site plans
Primarily an office setting with access to drafting software, blueprints, and technical resources
Collaborative atmosphere, working closely with architects, engineers, and project managers
Occasional visits to construction sites, requiring exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and noise
