DIRECT HIRE: An amazing opportunity for an experienced Underground Foreman in the Bethesda, MD. area. The successful candidate would oversee a team of 5 Laborers and an Operator in a tunneling/mining environment.
Pay: $52hr. + OT Schedule: Mondays - Fridays (some Saturdays) Reports to: Underground Superintendent
Role & Responsibilities:
Must be knowledgeable in underground drilling equipment, installation of rock anchors, installation of underground steel support
Oversee the setup and operation of mining equipment and machinery
Supervise and coordinate the activities of mining personnel, including shotcrete, drill, shoot, and concrete operations
Provide training and guidance to staff on proper equipment use and safety procedures
Plan and schedule daily operations for shotcrete, drilling, shooting, and concrete tasks.
Monitor and inspect work sites to ensure compliance with operational standards and OSHA regulations.
Hand shotcrete nozzlemen experience is required
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Implement corrective actions as needed to address safety issues
Maintain accurate records of operational activities, including daily logs, safety reports, and equipment maintenance.
Report any incidents, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to management promptly.
Ensure that shotcrete, drill, shoot, and concrete operations meet quality standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of Underground Foreman experience
ACI Certification is required
Shotcrete Association Nozzleman certification
OSHA30 preferred
Certified, or capable welder
Manlift operator certification
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
