Laser Operator for Direct Hire

Hartland, WI - Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator for a long-term, direct hire role in Hartland, WI. The Laser Operator will be responsible for CNC Fiber & C02 Laser Set-up/Operation as well as managing material exchange from an automated storage system.
Pay: $25-28/h depending on experience
Shift: 1st (6 am to 2 pm)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Laser Operator:
  • Perform setups and operations on CNC Fiber & C02 Lasers.
  • Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into laser stocker.
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
  • Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
  • Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
  • Cross Train across multiple laser platforms and cells.
  • Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
  • Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and complete work.
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues.
  • Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues.
  • Maintain performance logbooks on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
  • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
  • Assist in other departments during slow periods as needed.
Qualifications for Laser Operator:
  • 2 years’ experience preferred
  • Use of precision measuring equipment
  • Basic shop math & dimensional measuring
  • Knowledge of variety of materials, appropriate cutting conditions, consumables, programming
  • Familiarity with MAZAK equipment preferred
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings
  • Written and verbal communication skills
