Position Overview

Superior Skilled Trades is hiring an experienced Ironworker Foreman for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Nashville, TN!

Our client is an established structural steel contractor specializing in steel fabrication, erection, and installation for commercial and industrial construction projects. With a strong commitment to safety, quality craftsmanship, and project execution, they deliver structural steel solutions throughout Tennessee and the surrounding region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel erection, hands-on ironworking experience, and proven leadership skills. This individual will oversee field crews, coordinate daily job-site operations, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of ironworking crews on structural steel construction projects.

• Oversee structural steel erection, installation, and related field operations.

• Assign daily tasks, manage manpower, and maintain production schedules.

• Provide hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and support to field personnel.

• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.

• Monitor job-site productivity, workmanship, and quality to ensure project standards are met.

• Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and safe working practices.

• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors regarding scheduling, manpower, materials, and project progress.

• Inspect equipment, tools, and completed work to ensure safety and quality standards.

• Identify and resolve field challenges to minimize delays and maintain productivity.

• Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve performance and safety awareness.

• Communicate project updates, job-site conditions, and potential issues to management.

• Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Ironworker Foreman, Structural Steel Foreman, Lead Ironworker, or similar field leadership role.

• Several years of hands-on experience in structural steel erection, ironworking, or related construction trades.

• Strong knowledge of structural steel installation methods, equipment, and job-site safety procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.

• Proven ability to supervise field crews, coordinate manpower, and maintain project schedules.

• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and other construction personnel.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Willingness to work overtime as project demands require.

• Ability to travel to project sites throughout Central Tennessee and Kentucky.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Must successfully complete required drug screening and background checks.

Compensation & Schedule

• Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on experience.

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

• Position Type: Full-time, direct hire.

• Travel: Regional travel to job sites throughout Central Tennessee and Kentucky.

• Overtime: As needed based on project requirements.
