Licensed Wastewater Operator
JC - Roseland, NJ - Full Time
Seeking a Licensed N-2 Wastewater Operator for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Roseland, NJ.
This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!
Salary is between $80,000 - $94,000 per year (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize physical, chemical, and biological treatment systems, including DAF, pH neutralization, equalization, and solids handling.
- Monitor daily water, softener, and cooling tower readings.
- Perform routine testing and coordinate required grab and composite sampling.
- Maintain logbooks, records, and data for monthly DMR reporting and NJDEP compliance.
- Adjust chemical feed rates based on wastewater conditions.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps, blowers, valves, sensors, motors, and other equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow OSHA, LOTO, confined space, and all plant safety procedures.
- Required: New Jersey Wastewater Treatment Operator License – Class N2.
- 3–5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of wastewater treatment experience; food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and industrial pretreatment requirements.
- Experience repairing/rebuilding pumps and replacing motors, valves, aerators, and filters.
- Ability to run and fit PVC and black piping.
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
- Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- Ability to work in industrial and wastewater environments and outdoors in varying weather.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
