Site Safety Health Officer
JC - Key West, FL - Full Time
Seeking a Site Safety Health Officer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Key West, FL.
This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental, 401k, company vehicle, gas card, and per diem! Medical premium is paid by the company for the employee and their family.
Salary is between $75,000 - $95,000 per year (based on experience)
The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) position is responsible for administering and managing the Corporate Safety and Health Management System, project specific health and safety plans, and the corresponding regulations that relate to the safety of our work. Work will be project location based, at an assigned location or location(s).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety briefings
- Perform site inspections and audits to address safety deficiencies, reduce incidents, and ensure health and the well-being of all personnel
- Investigate and document near misses and incidents
- Ensure compliance with site specific safety programs, Corporate Safety and Health Management System, OSHA Regulations, EM-385-1-1 Regulations, and any owner required safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or applicable industry with safety related responsibilities required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field, preferred but not required
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or other recognized safety certification is preferred
- OSHA 30 HR Certification for Construction or Authorized Trainer Certification is preferre
- Experience as SSHO on large airfield paving projects, heavy civil projects, or similar projects valued over 5 million dollars.
- Familiarity with USACE Safety and Health Requirements manual (EM 385-1-1)
- Proficient with database operations and Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of and experience with OSHA regulations (CFR 1910 and CFR 1926)
