DIRECT HIRE: Amazing direct hire opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic in the Sutton, NE. area. This position reports directly to the shop department manager.
Drive service truck to jobsite to conduct field visits
Oil, lube, check and fill all fluid levels on heavy equipment
Oil changes, sampling and filter changes on heavy equipment
Fuel in accordance with company rules and Federal EPA
Greasing of all pivot points on heavy equipment
Inspects, diagnoses and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and machines
Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting results
Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, or other associated parts
Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Any miscellaneous projects as directed by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum 4 years' Diesel Mechanic experience
Knowledge of Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment and dump truck preferred
Know all service points on all heavy equipment used by the company or the ability to be trained
Applicant must have sufficient proficiency in English to understand commands, safety rules, instruction sites and the ability to abide by them
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and operating various hand and power tools, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Requires use of foot-controlled pedals and sitting for extensive periods of time
Regularly requires standing and bending over for extensive periods of time
Requires reaching, crawling, climbing, grasping, kneeling, squatting and twisting
Often requires lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 75 lbs.
Sometimes requires working at heights
Also requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range
Requires working under stressful conditions
Typical Working Conditions:
Frequent exposure to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, cold, noise, vibration and other conditions common to a construction site
Contractual obligations may require irregular hours, out-of-town work, overnight stays, nights and weekends
