DIRECT HIRE: The Commercial HVACR Technician performs maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and startup support on commercial and industrial HVACR equipment across a range of customer sites. This role is focused on larger and more complex systems such as rooftop units (RTUs), makeup air units (MAUs), split systems, exhaust and ventilation equipment, boilers, chilled water equipment, and related controls/components. You are responsible for delivering safe, high-quality work, communicating clearly with customers and internal team members, and helping customers keep critical equipment operating reliably.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, service, and repair commercial and industrial HVACR systems, including as applicable: RTUs, MAUs, split systems, exhaust fans, unit heaters, air handlers, boilers, pumps, economizers, VFDs, refrigeration components, and chilled water equipment
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, seasonal service, and equipment startups
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, combustion, and control-related issues
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, sequence of operations, service literature, submittals, and equipment documentation
Identify root causes of equipment issues and complete repairs in a safe, code-compliant, and manufacturer-aligned manner
Support system performance verification, including checking airflow, temperatures, pressures, amperage, voltage, safeties, and control operation
Customer and Jobsite Coordination
Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, recommended repairs, operating concerns, and next steps
Represent the company professionally on customer sites, including occupied commercial and industrial facilities
Coordinate with dispatch, account managers, project managers, controls vendors, TAB personnel, and other trades as needed
Escalate major repair needs, equipment replacement opportunities, or site risks appropriately
Quality, Safety, and Documentation
Follow company and site-specific safety requirements; stop work for unsafe conditions
Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
Complete service documentation thoroughly and accurately, including notes, diagnostics, labor, material usage, and follow-up recommendations
Track time, tasks, and job costing information accurately in company systems
Protect customer equipment, spaces, and building operations while performing work
Materials, Tools, and Readiness
Maintain service vehicle stock, tools, meters, and testing equipment in good working order
Identify material needs in advance and help reduce avoidable return trips and downtime
Stay current on product knowledge, diagnostic methods, and emerging equipment technologies
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial HVACR service experience preferred
Strong diagnostic and repair capability on commercial HVAC equipment
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer literature
Strong communication, professionalism, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial/industrial equipment such as RTUs, MAUs, air handlers, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration systems
EPA certification
Experience with building controls, economizers, VFDs, and low-voltage control circuits
Startup, commissioning, or advanced troubleshooting experience
Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the physical demands of commercial HVACR service work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, while wearing required PPE and safely using tools, meters, and access equipment.
