As a Quality Engineer I, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality management system while supporting manufacturing operations. You will lead corrective action initiatives, support special processes, participate in audits, and ensure product compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
This role involves cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams while supporting continuous improvement efforts in a high-precision aerospace environment.
Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP).
Participate in contract review to ensure customer requirements are incorporated into the QMS.
Lead corrective action efforts using root cause analysis tools such as 5-Why and 8D.
Support and lead special processes including chemical processing, traceability, and compliance monitoring.
Conduct internal audits and support customer audits, including closing findings and documenting corrective actions.
Review and disposition nonconforming material reports (NCRs).
Interface with Engineering and Operations to support new product introductions and production transfers.
Support quality inspectors to ensure product and process compliance.
Prepare and submit customer approval documentation.
Maintain and update quality documentation including procedures, manuals, and process records.
Support shop floor quality functions including over-inspection and shipment review.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, and 5S activities.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of quality experience.
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (ITAR/EAR compliance required).
Ability to work onsite and perform duties subject to aerospace regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Aerospace manufacturing experience.
Experience with AS9100 and/or NADCAP systems.
Strong root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Experience with QMS and ERP systems.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
