Project Manager– Underground Utility | Civil Projects - Direct Hire
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Pay Range: $90,000-$124,000 depending on experience
Company Vehicle or Car allowance
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am to 5 pm
Travel: Office 90% - going to local jobsites 10%
Job Overview
The Project Manager oversees all field operations on construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and company standards. This role coordinates subcontractors, directs on-site activities, and serves as the primary field contact for project managers, inspectors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities for Project Manager:
Field Management & Coordination
  • Lead and manage daily on-site construction activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, crews, deliveries, and equipment.
  • Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain the project schedule and adjust field activities to meet deadlines.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings.
  • Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Maintain all required safety documentation to turn into the Safety Manager.
Quality Control & Documentation
  • Ensure work meets plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Identify and correct quality issues quickly.
  • Complete daily reports, site logs, and progress documentation.
  • Assist with inspections and ensure punch lists are completed.
Communication & Leadership
  • Serve as the main field liaison for the Project Manager.
  • Communicate project updates, issues, and needs to management.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Lead and motivate field crews to maintain productivity and high-quality work.
Project Planning
  • Review construction documents, plans, and specs.
  • Assist in creating schedules, sequencing work, and planning manpower.
  • Anticipate material needs and coordinate timely deliveries.
  • Solve on-site construction issues proactively.
Qualifications for Project Manager:
  • Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specs, and industry standards.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of contracts management, budgeting, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict safety standards (OSHA compliance).
  • Strong leadership skills with previous supervising experience in heavy civil or pipeline construction projects preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.
  • Technical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing; familiarity with construction site safety protocols is essential.
