Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Project Manager I for a direct hire opportunity supporting specialty concrete infrastructure and prestressed tank construction projects throughout North Florida and surrounding regions. This role is ideal for a driven, field-oriented Project Manager with strong construction leadership experience who can manage multiple active projects while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.

The Project Manager will oversee project execution from preconstruction through closeout while coordinating closely with field teams, subcontractors, owners, and internal departments including Engineering, Procurement, Safety, Accounting, and Administration. This role requires strong technical understanding of construction operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage fast-moving field activity across multiple job sites.


Responsibilities

  • Develop full understanding of contract documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda
  • Ensure compliance with project scope, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule milestones
  • Prepare project startup packages including budgets, job cost setup, and field execution documentation
  • Develop and maintain CPM schedules, including look-ahead schedules and progress updates
  • Coordinate with drafting teams on shop drawings, formwork drawings, and construction detailing
  • Review shop drawings for compliance with contract documents and project specifications
  • Coordinate submittals with subcontractors and purchasing to ensure timely approvals and material flow
  • Prepare, transmit, and track submittal packages throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review bills of materials, purchase orders, and work orders for procurement approval
  • Conduct jobsite visits during mobilization and active construction phases
  • Lead internal preconstruction meetings and ensure project readiness prior to field execution
  • Review weekly job cost reports, EPIR data, and CCTS reporting for accuracy and performance tracking
  • Present cost and schedule performance updates during monthly WIP meetings
  • Coordinate field-related activities including safety inspections, QA/QC inspections, pre-pour meetings, testing requirements, and job cost tracking
  • Monitor unit quantities, production tracking, and schedule/budget alignment
  • Maintain consistent communication with Superintendents regarding field progress and challenges
  • Manage change orders, delays, and coordination issues with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors
  • Support timely project closeout including O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, and punch list completion
  • Lead post-project reviews and internal performance evaluations
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Strong construction background with demonstrated experience managing projects and/or field teams
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and field execution practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to be insured
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with scheduling, submittals, and construction document control
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concrete, civil, or infrastructure construction experience strongly preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification a plus
  • Experience working with CPM scheduling tools and project cost tracking systems
