Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage commercial construction projects in the Merritt Island, FL area. The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day construction site operations from project start through completion.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved.
Conduct daily site inspections and quality control reviews.
Lead and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site audits.
Monitor workforce productivity and address issues that impact project progress.
Maintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
Coordinate inspections with local authorities and project stakeholders.
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to identify and resolve field issues.
Communicate project updates to project managers, clients, and company leadership.
Ensure proper material management, equipment utilization, and site logistics.
Identify and proactively mitigate project risks and delays.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
OSHA 30 Certification.
Experience with healthcare, education, municipal, industrial, or government facilities.
Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
Previous experience managing projects valued at $5M+.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
Ability to climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and work in varying weather conditions.
