The company provides a variety of residential and commercial services, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, excavation, and other specialized mechanical services. Its commercial division handles larger and more complex projects throughout the region.

They are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Foreman to lead field operations and ensure commercial plumbing projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of craftsmanship.

Position Overview

The Commercial Plumbing Foreman will lead the day-to-day field execution of commercial plumbing projects, including new construction and renovation work. This individual will supervise crews, coordinate with project managers and other trades, interpret plans and specifications, manage jobsite priorities, and ensure work is completed according to schedule, quality, and safety expectations.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced plumber who can confidently direct a crew while maintaining a strong focus on craftsmanship, communication, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership

  • Lead daily jobsite activities, huddles, and crew assignments.
  • Set clear expectations for productivity, workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor plumbers and apprentices.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with the Project Manager, including crew size, skill levels, and approved overtime.
  • Serve as the primary field leader for the plumbing crew and maintain strong communication with project leadership.

Commercial Plumbing Installation

  • Lead installation of commercial plumbing systems, including:
    • Domestic water
    • Sanitary and storm piping
    • Gas piping
    • Plumbing fixtures and carriers
    • Roof drains
    • Interceptors
    • Equipment connections
    • Other commercial plumbing systems as required by the project
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Ensure installations are completed in accordance with applicable codes, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Plan upcoming work approximately 1–3 weeks in advance, including sequencing, inspections, access, materials, and jobsite constraints.
  • Coordinate work with other trades, subcontractors, site supervision, and project management to maintain project flow.

Quality & Safety

  • Take ownership of foreman-level quality control and verify installations before inspections.
  • Identify potential issues early and communicate them to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and professional work areas, including mechanical rooms.
  • Protect completed work and ensure proper cleanup throughout the project.
  • Enforce company and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Address unsafe conditions immediately and stop work when necessary to protect employees and others on the jobsite.

Materials, Tools & Jobsite Management

  • Forecast material requirements and coordinate deliveries to keep the project moving.
  • Minimize material waste and unnecessary emergency runs.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are used properly and safely.
  • Maintain jobsite readiness and organization.
  • Provide regular updates regarding manpower, progress, jobsite constraints, inspections, and upcoming milestones.
  • Accurately track time and task allocations, including job-cost codes and timesheets as required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience.
  • Previous Foreman, Lead Plumber, or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret commercial plumbing plans and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of commercial plumbing installation, sequencing, and applicable codes.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate a plumbing crew.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, General Contractors, other trades, and field personnel.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Plumber license, where applicable.
  • Experience leading multi-phase commercial projects from underground through rough-in, trim, final installation, and punch list.
  • Experience working on new construction and renovation projects.
  • Strong mentoring and apprenticeship development skills.
  • Ability to identify potential field issues and proactively communicate solutions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the physical demands of commercial plumbing, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, climbing ladders and lifts, bending, kneeling, and working in varying indoor and outdoor construction environments while wearing required personal protective equipment.
