CDL-A Flatbed Driver

Lancaster, PA | $30–$35/HR | Direct Hire | Full-Time | Home Daily

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking an experienced CDL-A Flatbed Driver to transport precast concrete wall panels to residential and commercial construction sites.

This is a home-daily position with consistent local driving and hands-on jobsite responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong flatbed experience, understands load securement, and is comfortable working around cranes and active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate a diesel tractor with a flatbed trailer to safely transport precast concrete panels.
• Secure loads using chains, straps, binders, and protective corner guards.
• Coordinate with crane operators for trailer placement at job sites.
• Unchain loads and perform rigging duties to connect wall panels to cranes.
• Return empty trailers to the yard after deliveries.
• Complete DOT logbooks, fuel logs, and daily pre-trip inspections.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite requirements.

Qualifications

• Current CDL-A required.
• Manual transmission experience required.
• No E restriction: CDL holders with an automatic-transmission-only restriction will not be considered.
• Clean MVR required.
• 2+ years of commercial flatbed experience preferred.
• Experience securing loads with chains, straps, and binders.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow construction drawings.
• Ability to understand and follow crane hand signals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical jobsite tasks.
• Ability to climb ladders while carrying materials or equipment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recognize safety hazards and exercise good judgment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Precast concrete or construction experience.
• Residential or commercial construction experience.
• Rigging or crane-related experience.
• Experience hauling specialized or oversized loads.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting. The driver must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs. when securing loads and work safely around tractors, cranes, heavy equipment, and power tools.
