Salary: $60,000 – $67,000 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40–50 hours/week)
Travel: Up to 10% within the greater Nashville area

Position Summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a positive, reliable, and safety-focused Asphalt Distributor Operator / Tack Truck Driver to join paving crews for a leading construction contractor. This role requires a strong work ethic and team-first mindset. The operator will be responsible for safely operating the distributor/tack truck, assisting paving crews, and maintaining equipment across multiple job sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the Distributor/Tack Truck ahead of paving operations to spray tack and prepare road surfaces.

  • Complete pre- and post-trip Driver-Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).

  • Clean, maintain, and perform routine upkeep on the distributor truck and related equipment.

  • Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company procedures.

  • Assist paving crews when not operating the distributor, including operating additional heavy equipment (e.g., paver, roller, skid steer).

  • Perform other CDL-related duties, such as driving a dump truck, as needed.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement (no restrictions)

  • Hazmat endorsement preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience

  • Prior tack truck or asphalt distributor experience strongly preferred

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Ability to work weekends as needed

  • Ability to work in varying outdoor conditions (hot, cold, dusty)

  • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality


Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction license/certification (Class A Contractor License)

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

  • Drug screening
