We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (A/P) Data Entry Clerk with bookkeeping experience for a long-term, direct hire opportunity with a growing electrical contracting business in Monroe, NC.
Salary: $45,000-60,000
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7am -4:30 pm

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for accurate and timely entry of vendor invoices, maintaining organized financial records, and assisting with general accounting functions using QuickBooks Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities for Accounts Payable Clerk:
  • Enter high-volume vendor invoices into QuickBooks Enterprise with accuracy and efficiency
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and verify receipt of goods/services
  • Ensure proper job costing and coding of expenses (job, class, cost code)
  • Monitor and track retainage where applicable
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with weekly check runs and electronic payments
  • Maintain organized digital and physical A/P files
  • Communicate with vendors and internal project managers regarding invoice issues
  • Support month-end closing processes, including A/P aging review
  • Assist with general bookkeeping tasks as needed
Qualifications for Accounts Payable Clerk:
  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise (contractor edition preferred)
  • Experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of job costing and retainage
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with construction accounting practices
  • Experience handling subcontractor invoices and lien waivers
  • Understanding of sales tax and use tax in construction
