Compensation:
Base Salary:
$130,000–$175,000/year
Auto Allowance: $14,400 annually
Year-End Bonus: 10–15% based on company performance

Position Overview

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Mission Critical Electrical Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Abilene, TX.

This position will oversee the successful delivery of large, technically complex electrical construction projects, with a strong focus on data centers and mission-critical environments. The Project Manager will be responsible for projects from preconstruction and planning through installation, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.

This role requires someone who can effectively manage project financials, schedules, procurement, subcontractors, field coordination, risk, quality, and client relationships while working closely with Superintendents and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale electrical construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, procurement plans, and cost controls.
  • Coordinate electrical construction with mechanical, structural, architectural, controls, plumbing, and other trades.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to establish work sequencing, manpower needs, and project priorities.
  • Manage electrical subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and specialty contractors.
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of major electrical equipment, materials, and systems.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address schedule, cost, quality, or construction concerns.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, contracts, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
  • Track project costs, commitments, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
  • Lead coordination between clients, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and internal project teams.
  • Support electrical testing, startup, commissioning, turnover, and project closeout.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain an active presence in the field and participate in planning, coordination, and safety meetings.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other project team members.

Experience We're Looking For

Ideal candidates will have a strong background managing large and complex electrical construction projects, particularly within:

  • Data Centers
  • Mission-Critical Facilities
  • Advanced Technology
  • Semiconductor Facilities
  • Large Healthcare
  • Large Lifesciens or Advanced Technology Projects
  • Industrial or other technically complex environments

Candidates should have a solid understanding of electrical construction methods, sequencing, major electrical systems, procurement, scheduling, cost management, and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of electrical construction, project engineering, or electrical project management experience.
  • Previous experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects.
  • 1–2+ years of leadership or team management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, contracts, procurement, and change management.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors, vendors, trades, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA 30 preferred; certification must be completed within 6 months of hire.
