A growing and well-established building automation and controls company is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Estimator to join their team in Lawrenceville, GA. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term career growth, strong compensation, and a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience estimating BAS, HVAC controls, low-voltage, or electrical projects and possess strong technical knowledge of building automation systems, controls integration, and MEP drawings.

Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Responsibilities
- Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope
- Perform quantity take-offs for controllers, field devices, conduit/cabling, and labor requirements
- Develop detailed cost estimates, Bills of Material (BOMs), and labor allocations using estimating software
- Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing for specialty controls and installation services
- Identify value-engineering opportunities to reduce project costs while maintaining system performance and specification compliance
- Prepare proposals, scope narratives, inclusions/exclusions, and pricing breakdowns
- Participate in bid reviews, project hand-off meetings, and customer discussions
- Maintain risk assessments for design gaps, long-lead items, integration complexity, and cybersecurity considerations
- Update historical pricing databases and labor productivity metrics based on completed projects
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
- Experience estimating BAS, HVAC controls, electrical, or low-voltage systems
- Strong understanding of BAS platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider, Distech, or Alerton
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, controls diagrams, sequences of operation, and network risers
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based control networks
- Proficiency with Excel and estimating software such as Accubid, Sage, Trimble, or similar
- Familiarity with RSMeans, NECA, or SMACNA labor units preferred
- OSHA-10 certification preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
