Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wind Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on wind turbines. If you’re a hands-on professional with experience in pumps, generators, and drive trains, and you possess strong mechanical aptitude, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and general service on wind turbines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions.
- Conduct diagnostic electrical analyses as needed.
- Assist with all aspects of site operations.
- Submit accurate daily time and travel expenses in a timely manner.
- Follow operational and safety procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
- Handle additional skilled and non-skilled job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on mechanical experience required; five (5) years preferred.
- Experience with pumps, generators, and drive trains is required.
- Wind turbine experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform technical troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 350 feet without fear.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in extreme heat or cold for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and handle repetitive weights up to 50 lbs.
- Travel: Willing and able to travel.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; CDL preferred. Must pass a DOT medical exam.
- Other: Self-starter with excellent attention to detail, a focus on quality, and a commitment to customer service.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education (may pay more or less than the posted range).
